Lisa Young Design is focused on creating jewelry and accessories by repurposing upcycled and vintage materials with a distinctly modern edge. My vision is to create collage pieces that are not only personal, but made with sustainability and an eclectic spirit in mind. I began my creative journey originally as a landscape painter and I am excited to be combining my original miniature watercolour and acrylic paintings to my jewlery collections.
By using recycled and reclaimed items they are all One of a Kind and each one has a unique story to it. My pieces are handcrafted at my home studio in Riverdale, Toronto. The collage necklaces and buckles are made from recycled jewelry, charms, vintage watch parts, pins, original paintings and other cast offs found at vintage stores or given to me by friends and other artisans. I also use beads and semi precious stones in my designs.A resin is then applied to the necklaces, cufflinks and earrings to seal them.
My ultimate goal is to create accessories and jewelry that are as unique as the people who wear them.
